Typewriter Effect in Premiere Pro (easy method)

Here’s an easy method to create the popular typewriter effect in Premiere Pro.

Just create a text object in the timeline, head over to the ‘Effect Controls’ panel, and hit the stopwatch for the ‘Source Text’ parameter. Here you can animate the text to achieve the desired typewriter effect look.

In this case, however, we are going to work our way backward and later reverse the text object in the timeline. One thing to keep in mind though is that you can just reverse a graphics object (which is the text object in the timeline). For that, you have to nest that object and reverse the nested clip via right-click – Speed Duration – reverse speed.

That will save you a little bit of work rather than doing it the most common way and actually typing in the text.
