This is probably the most extensive Vlog camera overview you have ever seen. Not only does Philip Bloom talk about the new Sony RX100 VII which has been announced recently. He is also putting it into perspective to most other cameras he has used for vlogging throughout his long career of creating camera reviews.
Sony RX 100 VII – Really The Best Vlog Camera?
It’s easy to call every new camera ‘the best ever made’ since naturally they will come with the latest technical enhancements. But comparing it to almost every other camera you have used in the past is a brilliant way to actually explain what a perfect camera should bring along and why exactly you are calling it ‘the best’.
The Most Extensive Vlog Camera Review / Test
On top, we are seeing lots of test shots in different modes of the Sony RX100 VII so you can decide yourself, what this camera is capable of. With an additional ND filter (not built-in anymore) and a solid cage to mount that external video mic and utilize the new microphone jack, you are probably looking at the best vlogging setup right now.
I’m not sure if a vlogger would need that huge zoom range (200mm) and I’d rather swap that out with a 1.8 aperture (like in my RX100 V), but overall this is a close to perfect setup and will give you high-end camera performance at the palm of your hand.
Of course, the only real drawback here is the hefty price tag. Remember, we are still talking about a compact camera, despite all the functions you get. So it will be interesting to see how the much cheaper competitor Canon G7X III will stack up against this new king of vlogs/compacts. The specs should be pretty similar, but for a much cheaper price.
